Native Bull

In our strive for an outcross we tried to think outside the box. When we purchased our latest stock bull Yearsley Royal Lupo R209 whose calves we excitingly await, something else caught our eye. For us, figures aren’t everything, far from it actually, we want our Angus to look like Angus and perform like Angus, and their best trait…Calving Ease. With the Pedigree breed understandably striving for increased growth, at what point have you reached a compromise too far, forgetting what it is you are trying to produce in the first place? Our herd has come on leaps and bounds in the last 10 years and we are very proud of that, but as genetics change, we don’t want our values to and feedback from our customers agree with this.

Forage utilising, versitile, practical, fertile, hardy, quality meat yields and easy fleshing.

So welcome Yearsley Edward R236. A native bull that we will be crossing on a select group of out cows, hoping to maintain that traditional Angus character. Farming at over 1000ft, moderate framed cows has a real advantage and they really tell us if a bull is easy calving or not. The aim is to produce hardy breeding heifers and a good ……bull for the best of both worlds.
